We are delighted to announce Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council in Far North Queensland has completed a successful go-live of the MAGIQ Documents suite of documents and records management software.
Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire is located in the Cape York region on the banks of the Bloomfield River about 170 km north of Cairns and 70km south of Cooktown. Wujal Wujal meaning ‘many falls’ is the traditional home of the Kuku Yalanji, Kuku Nyungul and Jalunji clans with a population of 650 people. Located on the Broomfield Track, Wujal Wujal is set between two UNESCO World Heritage sites; the Daintree Forest and the Great Barrier Reef, offering visitors a unique combination of terrain and coastal scenery.
MAGIQ Documents is a suite of easy to use document and records management software designed to meet governance and statutory requirements within a fully automated environment.
Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire chose to implement MAGIQ Documents to ensure compliance with its governance and statutory requirements. Council staff will also enjoy improved document accessibility and security with multiple file-share environments replaced by a single organisational document and records repository.
Wendy Rowlands, Information Management Officer, Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council is very excited by Council’s move to a digital environment.
“As a smaller, remote community we have limited access to resources. It’s great to see Wujal Wujal leading the way and successfully implementing new technology that will protect our corporate history and deliver real benefits to our staff and community,” said Wendy.
MAGIQ Software’s Consultant Paula Burke was on-site with us in the lead up to go-live and she did a fantastic job helping us with system configuration, making sure everyone was trained and assisting staff with any questions.”
“Working with the team at Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire has been a really great experience. Everyone has been very engaged and keen to learn how they can get the most advantage from MAGIQ Documents,” said Paula.
“I’m very proud of what our team has achieved, and we will be continuing to look at ways we can use MAGIQ Documents to improve our business efficiency,” said Wendy.
