The Challenge
With little integration in place between Council’s SAP Financial Systems and an in-house developed budgeting tool, the Finance team was spending a dis-proportionate amount of time gathering and building the budgeting data. It was also very difficult and time-consuming for other departments across Council to participate in the budgeting process, which impacted on the quality and accuracy of the data and the ability of the finance team to deliver the required information in a timely manner.
The Solution
City of Gold Coast implemented the MAGIQ Performance suite in early 2012 to build, track and analyse their budgeting data. MAGIQ is integrated with Council’s SAP Financial Systems to provide consistent application of the organisational structure across Council and a single, consistent source of data.
The Benefit
City of Gold Coast believe the MAGIQ Performance solution has allowed them to significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the budgeting processes across the entire organisation. The ease of use of the software has delivered considerable time-savings in gathering and building the data and this has meant more time can be spent on the important strategic tasks of analysing and planning the budget.
